Camp Woodeden

Easter Seals campers can literally hit new heights when they attend Easter Seals Camp Woodeden near London, Ontario. The camp is home to North America’s only fully accessible High Ropes Course. This vertical playground gives all kids the chance to participate in activities 50 feet in the air! Right beside the High Ropes course is the giant 70-foot swing and if that’s not enough, campers can also make their way up the rock-climbing wall in the full-sized gymnasium and recreation centre.

Camp Woodeden was established in 1946 and features many new and innovative programs to go along with the traditional experiences offered at summer camp. The life skills kitchen allows campers to have hands-on experience budgeting, shopping, and preparing food. Life skills programming also includes career development, conflict resolution, esteem development, health and nutrition, financial literacy, goal achievement strategies, leadership skills, and team building. The programs are all geared toward teaching campers practical skills to aid in independence.

Camp Merrywood

Easter Seals Camp Merrywood is located on a beautiful peninsula near Perth, Ontario. For Easter Seals campers who like water activities, this is the place to be! Along with the specially adapted swimming pool, campers can set out onto Big Rideau Lake in a canoe, kayak, sailboat, or even fish for the big one on the dock. For the more adventurous, there are overnight canoeing trips and even the opportunity to go white water rafting!

Merrywood opened in 1948 and has expanded to host 12 buildings and several leadership and development sessions with programs such as ‘GEAR UP’ and ‘Leaders in Training’.  All of that is in addition to the typical creative arts and sports activities that are part of the usual summer camp experience.

Camp E-aster Seals

In the summer of 2020, Easter Seals Ontario introduced the E-aster Seals Virtual Camp and Camp at Home programs after they were forced to cancel overnight camps due to the COVID-19 pandemic. These virtual camp programs were created to help kids stay connected and receive a camp experience from the safety of their homes. Virtual camp featured both live and pre-recorded material including virtual campfires, talent shows, special guest segments from musicians, athletes, and chefs, and at-home activities for all campers. The programs were so successful, they decided to extend camp sessions year-round.
