Camp Horizon is located in Kananaskis Country in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Easter Seals Alberta hosts week-long overnight camp sessions throughout the summer, as well as spring and fall sleepovers, and Christmas Camp. Campers spend the week participating in a variety of fun activities, including fully accessible high and low ropes courses, a giant 50-foot swing, a climbing wall, hiking, mountain biking, snowshoeing, and archery. They even have an 18-hole disc golf course!
Campers make the most of the outdoors by learning wilderness survival skills, orienteering, geocaching, and other team building activities. The Future Leaders program teaches older campers public speaking, communication, and leadership skills to help them gain independence.
The camp location features an amphitheatre, BBQ patio, firepit, stage, observation decks and hiking trails. Easter Seals Alberta also partners with other groups to provide camp experiences for kids with different medical conditions.
